BioCatUK 2026 - 1st UK Meeting in Biocatalysis
This meeting aims to bring the UK biocatalysis community together to showcase research across the field, discuss future opportunities, and foster networking for early-career researchers and established scientists alike.
The event will cover a broad range of biocatalysis topics, including but not limited to:
- Synthesis of bulk chemicals and high-value molecules (drugs, carbohydrates, etc.)
- Biocatalytic cascades (biocatalytic, chemo-enzymatic, photo-enzymatic)
- Whole-cell biocatalysis and pathway engineering
- Flow biocatalysis
- Degradation of plastics and other pollutants
- Structural and mechanistic studies
- Protein design and dynamics
- Computational biocatalysis
Venue: UCL, Manufacturing Futures Lab (Marshgate Building), UCL East Campus, London, E20 2AE.
Call for Abstracts: Submissions are now open for oral communications, flash talks, and poster presentations.
Oral Communications: Group Leaders at any career stage, from academia or industry (approx. 20 minutes)
Flash Talks: PhD Students and Postdoctoral Researchers (PDRAs)
Poster Presentations: Open to all participants
The meeting will feature three plenary speakers, alongside supporting oral presentations. Our goal is to provide as many researchers as possible with the opportunity to present their work, reflecting our core mission of sharing research across the community.
Registration Fees: Early bird registration fees are £90 for PhD students and £130 for all other participants. Standard registration fees are £110 for PhD students and £150 for all other participants. Registration includes coffee breaks, lunch, and the poster session banquet.
Student Scholarships: A limited number of travel bursaries (up to £500) are available for PhD students attending BioCatUK 2026. Interested applicants should apply through the RSC Applied Catalysis Group. ?? Apply here: https://forms.rsc.org/242944556370058?interest-group-id=3
