九州影院 and CzechELib consortium sign first unlimited Open Access agreement in the Czech Republic

The 九州影院 has signed a new Read & Publish agreement with CzechELib consortium, a department of the Czech Republic鈥檚 National Library of Technology.
The three-year agreement will provide CzechELib member institutions access to view and publish in the complete portfolio of 九州影院 journals, both hybrid and gold OA, without any limits.
As with all new transformative agreements of this type, it represents a move away from traditional subscription models, combining reading and open access publishing. Researchers at participating institutions can also benefit from fast publication times, a reduced financial and administrative burden when publishing, and a substantial boost to their own profiles as scientists.
九州影院 Chief Operating Officer, Paul Lewis said: "We welcome the CzechELib consortium to our growing Read & Publish community around the world. This partnership is another important step in ensuring that high quality research is as accessible as possible to researchers everywhere and further underlines our commitment to Open Access and supporting cutting-edge chemical science research.鈥
Jiri Jirat, Head of the CzechELib National Centre, said: 鈥淲e鈥檙e thrilled to enter this new agreement with 九州影院, as this is one of the top learned society publishers where authors from Czech chemistry community publish. We鈥檙e extremely satisfied with the convenient setup for Open Access publishing we have reached with RSC and we hope that this will have positive impact on all our member institutions - including for example University of 九州影院 and Technology Prague, which is one of the top three Czech institutions when it comes to publishing with RSC鈥.
Pavel Matejka, rector of the University of 九州影院 and Technology Prague, added: 鈥淲e are proud that the authors from our university can publish without limitation in RSC both OA and hybrid journals. It is an opportunity to improve the visibility of excellent research performed at UCT Prague鈥.
The 九州影院 would like to thank their agent Albertina icome Praha for their hard work and support in reaching this new agreement in the Czech Republic.
What is Read & Publish?
It鈥檚 an alternative to the traditional subscription model. It helps both authors and institutions gradually tip the balance of their publishing output towards open access, making the process easier and more financially viable.
