Led by expert facilitators, this course will help you develop strategies to help your learners with topics that are a crucial part of both UK and Irish curricula.
Within each session, there’s time to discuss ideas and share your previous experience, plus opportunities to ask questions and get guidance from our experts.
After this course, you should:
- illustrate best practice in chemistry based on latest learning models
- share and refine good practice from our own classroom experiences
- signpost RSC resources that can be used in classroom practice
Throughout the course you will gain knowledge and skills for teaching chemistry through guided learning discussions, in which you will share ideas and experiences with a group of your peers and teaching experts.
We will be covering key chemistry curriculum topics taught across the UK and Ireland. The course is most suited to teachers who are:
- established in their teaching career with a solid foundation of topic knowledge
- looking to explore new ways of teaching key curriculum areas
- keen to gather new ideas and resources from experts and peers
The format is a series of four sessions – you will complete these once a month. By completing the sessions, you will qualify for a certificate of attendance to add to your professional development portfolio/record.
We will also ask you to complete some short tasks outside of the sessions, which you will discuss with your course facilitator and fellow participants during the sessions. These will be provided approximately one month in advance of each session on the module event support page (which you will be given access to).
