The 16th RSC Chemical Biology and Bioorganic Group (CBBG) Firbush conference

11 - 13 September 2015, Killin, United Kingdom

Introduction
The meeting is co-Chaired by Dr. Dom Campopiano (Edinburgh) and Dr. Andrew Jamieson (Leicester); the general theme this year is 鈥淧eptide chemistry鈥, but the meeting will cover a broad range of bio-organic chemistry.
The programme will start late afternoon on Friday 11th and finish at lunch time on Sunday 13th, with plenary lectures scheduled for Friday (Prof. Mike Burkart, UC/SD) and Saturday (Prof. Tom Muir, Princeton) evenings. Since the Firbush venue has limited capacity (~40) the attendance will be restricted. We hope to bring together established and younger academics (fellows, new lecturers) and it is anticipated that there will be ~18 offered seminar lots (~20 mins).
Firbush (post code: FK21 8SU) is the field centre for the University of Edinburgh and is situated in fabulous scenery in the southern highlands at the end of Loch Tay. The nearest town is Killin. To enjoy the wonderful surroundings, Saturday afternoon is left free for walking, windsurfing, sailing, mountain biking, golfing etc. Further information can be found at:
As a field centre, the accommodation is 鈥渂asic鈥 with four people per room in bunk-beds. Of course alternative accommodation can be found at the nearby town of Killin (B&Bs, hotels). The conference facilities are excellent with a comfortable, 40-seater seminar room with Powerpoint projector.

The event runs not-for-profit/break even and the cost of attending is 拢175 (includes 2 nights B&B and 2 dinners). Those not staying at Firbush will pay a reduced rate. The cost also includes return travel from Edinburgh airport/Waverley train station to Firbush. Please do not hesitate to contact Dom or Andrew if you have any questions regarding the meeting, or to register your interest in attending/speaking.
