We are aware of phishing emails targeting speakers of events whose names appear on our events pages. If you are unsure if an email regarding event registration or accommodation has come from us please contact us and do not provide any credit card details or personal information.

The Events Team office will be closed from Thursday 24 December 2025 until Monday 5 January 2026. You can still submit during this period but we will not be available to respond to enquiries or authorise listings until the week of our return.

Young Researchers in Crop Sciences 2017

Introduction

Synopsis

The previous six very successful events in this annual series have included a wide range of disciplines such as agronomy, crop and plant physiology, environmental sciences, molecular biology, plant nutrition, soil science, crop protection, analytical chemistry, biofuels and biomaterials.

Attendees

This event is for early career scientists researching in biological, chemical, environmental and other relevant sciences who would like to present their work, and all those interested in learning about progress and meeting new talent in agrisciences.

Call for Papers


PhD students and first post-docs wishing to present have three options:
  • Oral paper (20 minutes)
  • Poster (A0: 1189 mm x 841 mm, portrait)
  • Poster plus Flash presentation (5 slides, 5 minutes)
E-mail an abstract of 300 words (max.) indicating title, authors and preference for presentation option to tony.hooper@rothamsted.ac.uk by Friday 12 May 2017. Oral presentation slots are inevitably limited and will be allocated to achieve a balanced programme. Topics for presentations in any format may be results, reviews or plans and may have already been presented elsewhere.

Prizes will be awarded, focusing on quality of science and clarity of communication.
